Behind Closed Doors - B.A. Paris

Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace.
He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do. Though, you’d like to get to know Grace better
.
But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.
Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn't work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.
Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.
I'll start of by saying this is definitely the best book I have read this year, It is a really strong debut novel from B.A. Paris. It manages to keep you thinking throught the novel and just when you think you know where it's going not all will be as it seems.
We read the novel from Grace's point of view, a women who has it all, the perfect husband, the perfect home, the perfect life! The timeline flicks between between a year before the story and the present day, until the two meet at the conclusion. I personally liked this aspect of the book as we get a better understanding of the characters and their motivations.
I'd definitely recommend you check this book out, especially if you enjoy a psychological thriller, like Girl On The Train from last year. (mild spoiler) One final note alls I'm going to say is the most shocking scene for me involved the housekeeper.
You can buy Behind Closed Doors here if your interested. Let me know of you've read this book and what you thoughts where, and of course leave me any recommendations in the comments.
Thanks For Reading,
Sam
